the great inventor, is missing.

She disappeared two nights after her best friend, Trey, escaped from the federal prison where he was serving time for fraud. Authorities suspect they fled the country together.

That's not what happened.

The truth is far stranger than that.

It's best to hear the story from Mallory herself. She was a researcher for a company called Cutting Edge Synergies - a name you've probably heard before, if you've ever had a down-and-out cousin who tried to sell you a spectacular business opportunity.

They were a rotten company. Sketchy products, sketchy business model, sketchy salespeople. And in the end, it caught up with them. But these businesses are like weeds - cut them down, and they just grow back.

She left behind a notebook.

It was full of her research notes, sketches, outlines of her theories, and claims of one of the greatest scientific discoveries of all time.

Quackery, or genius?

Soon, you'll be able to read it, and decide for yourself.

Research & Development(s)

an independent transmedia book
by Haley Moore

R&D is a pervasive book that exists in print, online, and in your hands. The experience will include:

Mallory's journal, a novelette that chronicles her work. The book is handwritten, full of sketches, charts, and embedded objects. The original journal will be placed on permanent display at the Brooklyn Art Library as part of The Sketchbook Project, and copies will be available to read online and in print.

Mallory's inventions hand-crafted and available from an in game online store.

A psychic university that's taking new students.

A network of websites living in Mallory's world.

A geocache somewhere in Texas.

A mad science device that you can control.

R&D is being built and coming soon. A project like this would normally take a team of people with a large budget, but I am developing it in a way that allows me to create it (mostly) solo.
